Pillars Of Solomon Award

Pillars of Solomon Award is established by the Grand Lodge of Arkansas to provide recognition to Master Masons for outstanding service to their Lodges. The award is a Grand Lodge award presented annually by a subordinate Lodge. As of Feb 2008, only one award per year may be given by a lodge.

The recipient of the Award should be a Mason who has contributed to the success and well being of his Lodge. While longevity alone is not enough to be worthy of the Award, a Brother should have given service over an extended period of time.

The Lodge alone is the sole judge of the qualifications of the recipient. Upon application, signed by the Worshipful Master, Senior Warden and Junior Warden, the Grand Master will review the application and, if, in his opinion, the brother is entitled to the Award, will approve the application and forward it to the Grand Secretary, who will prepare the certificate and forward to the Lodge the medal and certificate.

The Lodge should select the appropriate time to present the award. The cost of the award is $50.00 which should be forwarded to the Grand Lodge along with the application.

The award is a medallion cast of solid bronze, as were the pillars at the porch of King Solomon?s Temple. The medallion is suspended on a ribbon of purple and white. The purple denotes it is a Grand Lodge award. The white represents the lambskin apron, the badge of a Mason. The wreath that surrounds the pillars denotes unselfish service, the purest form of service given by man.
